MoMA was a Popup. Call us about temporary space, PopUps or short-term shows, we will point you in the right direction at no charge. Before you do, though, there are few things to consider: Price: Most landlords and companies charge a premium for short-term rental space, more than the price per SF for a long-term lease on the same property, and often by the week. Extras: Marketing, opening refreshments, security, and electricity will likely be your responsibility. In many cases, the renting companies will cater and provide security, even the marketing, but you will pay for it separately and generally, at a premium. Insurance: It's very important to ask about insurance from the outset. You may have to provide coverage. If an informal arrangement is made with a friend or associate with a space, and they have insurance, be sure to confirm that your event will be covered by their policy, or, in the event of an accident or fire, you may find yourself liable for damages and injuries. Access: Confirm the hours of operation and general access to the space beforehand. Protect yourself with a contract. This will codify the agreed-upon terms. Consult with an attorney. There are a few ways to find temporary space: 1 - Contact one of the companies below, 2 - Walk around the area you want to be in and look for empty space with a brokerage phone number in the window. Call the firm and see if they can accommodate you and what they charge, 3 - speak with an existing gallery about your project or 4 - call us. We can help you find space, but we charge a fee for our services since landlords usually do not allocate funds for the broker's time on short-term space. Our fee is $2,500 or 15% of the total bill, whichever is higher, with a $1,500 non-refundable deposit required before we start searching.
